Individual Gifts

The West Bend Community Foundation offers a broad range of services to help our donors learn about community issues and make the greatest possible impact through their charitable giving.

The Foundation appreciates and admires the work our local citizens do to make the community a better place. From providing vital support to charitable organizations, to serving on nonprofit boards, to volunteering in the community, our potential donors are truly making a difference in our region and throughout the world.

The West Bend Community Foundation is a partner of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.  We listen to individuals who want to make a difference in our community and help achieve its philanthropic goals. The Greater Milwaukee Foundation is the home to more than 1,000 funds created by individuals and families who are passionate about the interests, organizations and programs.  Every day, the knowledgeable Donor Services team works with donors who want to see their giving change individual lives and change the community as a whole.

A Donor Advised Endowed Fund at The Community Foundation is a good option for those who wish to be involved in their giving personally or with their families, but prefer not to handle the administrative and organizational burden. The fund can be named for you, your family or for any name you select. If you choose, your fund can also be set up in a way that allows you to remain anonymous in the community.

Upon establishing a Donor Advised Endowed Fund, the donor may select other advisors (children, other family, friends and other trusted companions are often selected by donors) to the fund. The advisors can make recommendations about funding and programs and are encouraged to provide written guidelines to ensure that the intent of the their fund is implemented in perpetuity.

Donors may be as engaged with grantmaking as they choose. Sometimes donors have specific groups they know they want to support from their funds; others welcome the opportunity to work with the Foundation to identify groups and areas they want to support, and to think about how to give in a strategic way.
